Terms of Use
By using MyRepairCost, you agree to the terms below. They're short and reasonable — read them.
What MyRepairCost is
MyRepairCost is a free information service. It provides estimated price ranges for common car services and repairs at typical UK independent garages, based on your vehicle's make, age, engine size and fuel type.
The estimates are guidance only. They are not quotes. They are not binding on any garage. They do not represent the actual price you will be charged.
What MyRepairCost is not
- We are not a garage. We do not perform repairs.
- We are not a booking platform. We do not arrange or schedule any work.
- We are not affiliated with any specific garage, dealer, or chain.
- We are not a regulated financial advisor or consumer protection service.
Limitations of the price estimates
Our prices are calculated using vehicle data from the DVLA combined with our own pricing model. They reflect typical independent garage rates as of the most recent update. Actual prices may differ based on:
- Your specific car's condition, mileage, and history
- Regional variations in labour rates
- Parts brand and quality chosen
- Discovered work that wasn't visible during initial inspection
- Main dealer vs independent vs specialist pricing differences
You should always confirm pricing in writing with your chosen garage before agreeing to any work.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied. While we make every effort to keep prices accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee that any specific estimate will match what you are quoted or charged in real life.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyRepairCost is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including any decision you make to accept or decline a garage's quote based on information shown on this site.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to harass garages, mechanics, or third parties
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the site at scale
- Submit registrations you do not have legitimate reason to check
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to disrupt the service
Vehicle data
Vehicle information is provided by the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT History API. MyRepairCost is not the source of this data and is not responsible for its accuracy.
