Car repair cost calculator
Pick the job, your exact make and model, and your region - and get the fair UK price range from researched per-model data, not rough size-of-car averages. Independent garage prices by default, with a main-dealer toggle so you can see the difference.
Why this calculator is different
Most repair cost calculators put every car into five or six size buckets and apply a percentage. That produces the same "medium hatchback" price whether you drive a Dacia or a Golf GTI. Ours looks up your actual model in a researched database of 1,095 cars and vans, each priced against real UK independent garage rates. The difference matters: a clutch on a Corsa and a clutch on a Kuga are hundreds of pounds apart, and a size bucket cannot see that.
Want it even more precise? Enter your reg on the homepage - the checker reads your exact year, engine and fuel from DVLA data and prices that specific car, including MOT history.

Common questions
How accurate is this car repair cost calculator?
More precise than class-based calculators: every estimate comes from researched price ranges for your exact make and model at UK independent garages, adjusted for your region. For your exact year and engine, the free reg checker is more precise still.
Why are these prices lower than my dealer quote?
The calculator shows independent garage prices by default. Main dealers typically charge 50-85% more for identical work - tick the main dealer option to see that uplift.
Does region really change repair prices?
Yes, through labour rates. London and the South East run roughly 18% above the UK average, while Northern Ireland and the North East sit around 10% below. Parts cost about the same everywhere.
What if my car model is not listed?
We price 1,095 models and add more each month. If yours is missing, enter your reg in the free checker on the homepage - it prices any UK-registered vehicle.
